About Planzer

Planzer was established in 1936 as a sole proprietorship and has operated as a family-owned stock company since 1966. With its roots in the Limmat Valley, the logistics company now employs a staff of over 6,500, including more than 370 apprentices, across 72 locations in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France, Liechtenstein and Hong Kong. The company’s comprehensive portfolio offers a wide range of services and total solutions well beyond the core business of national cargo transport and warehouse logistics. For some years now, Planzer has not only been serving business customers, but private customers as well. With Planzer Parcel, for example, a parcel service for shipments up to 30 kg for business and private recipients. In these segments, the family company uses a retro logo for old-style branding. The family-owned company places particular emphasis on sustainability. For over 60% of shipments, environmentally friendly rail travel makes up the majority of the transport route. Goods are sent out for last-mile delivery from the company’s 13 railway centres by electric and conventional truck, delivery van, and even a horse-drawn carriage in Zermatt, while a sustainable city logistics concept using small alternative-drive vehicles is in place for urban dispatch.

About Loxo

LOXO was launched in May 2021 in Bern by Claudio Panizza, Amin Amini and Lara Amini with the aim of developing one of the most advanced and most secure software solutions for autonomous vehicles. In just under two years, the start-up designed and built the prototype of a small delivery van (LOXO Alpha), secured type approval and put it into operation on public roads. LOXO was therefore a pioneer of Europe’s first Level 4 autonomous driving technology to operate on public roads. Originally designed to validate autonomous software, the LOXO Alpha received a great response from end customers during the ‘Migronomous’ project and is now undergoing additional scaling with the help of partners. Nevertheless, LOXO’s core business remains the development of LOXO Digital Driver™ (LDD), an application for autonomous vehicles. LDD has proven successful in medium-distance traffic on public roads and is ideal for applications in urban areas and metropolitan regions.
